Distancia, a meditation on violence, follows 5 different men through normal life in abnormal circumstances in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Images of violence are interspersed with daily life, inclusive of Honduras’ overwhelming natural beauty and poverty. The driving forces of the book’s narrative are homicide scenes, skater kids, a pastor, a sicario, and political protests. Text inserts modelled after church bulletins give voice to the character’s experiences. Designed and edited by Modern Construct.
